Ministries
Our ministries
Six ministries carry one purpose: preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and uniting churches in world mission.
Short-term missions
Every June and July, UVM organizes short-term mission teams from the United States, Korea and China to serve in East Africa and Southeast Asia, and to bring the fire of revival from the mission field back to their local churches.
Teams take part in evangelistic meetings, church dedication services, Bible training for pastors and prayer meetings with missionaries. They visit communities in need and Christian schools, and come to know the life and culture of the people they serve.
How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Church building
Many churches in Africa worship under a tree or in a grass hut, exposed to danger and mocked by people of other religions. Through the Build a Church for the Lord campaign, UVM mobilizes churches in Korea, China and the United States to give, and keeps building churches for local congregations. As of June 2025, more than 2,200 churches have been built in Uganda, Kenya and other East African countries.
A church for 100 to 200 people needs a gift of US$10,000, for 300 to 400 people US$15,000, and for 500 to 600 people US$20,000.
With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

School building
To improve education in Africa, UVM builds Christian schools in poor areas, giving children who are out of school a chance to learn, teaching them with faith and knowledge, and preparing Africa's future leaders. As of June 2025, working with churches, businesses and individuals, UVM has built 72 Christian schools.
A kindergarten with a church needs a gift of US$30,000, and a primary or secondary school with a church US$100,000.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Pastor training
Africa today is a golden fishing ground for the Gospel. Spiritual poverty runs deeper than material poverty: many lack the Word of God, and even pastors lack training in it.
Today about 10,000 pastors are receiving Bible training through UVM's missionaries.
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Education
In Kampala, Uganda's capital, UVM has established a theological seminary, a college of education and a discipleship training center. Its education ministry also includes a vocational training school. Through theological education, teacher education and discipleship training, they prepare church leaders, missionaries and educators for East Africa and the wider world.
Discipleship training focuses mainly on young university students, so that they become the spiritual leaders who will carry God's work in the future.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Long-term missions
UVM's long-term Chinese and Korean missionaries serve in Uganda and other East African countries, and in Laos in Southeast Asia.
When a believer is called to serve as a long-term missionary, UVM sends them together with their own church. You can also give toward missionaries' living costs, their children's education and their theological training.
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
